Library Assistant, Mimi Labrucherie, retired September 5, 2017. Mimi was born in France and grew up in Spokane, Washington. She has a BA in Studio Art from Western Washington University and an MA in Linguistics from SDSU (just for fun). Congratulations JUSTIN!

Congratulations to 7 year old Dailard Elementary student, Justin,  the winner of our April "Who Hatches?" scavenger hunt.  His name was drawn from the 98 correct entries received.  Justin won a $25 gift certificate to  purchase his favorite books.  Erin Moore, our Youth Services Librarian, has created several library scavenger hunts this year; all youth may participate.  Watch for more to come.  They are sponsored by SCFOL. Congratulations CAROLINE BEAIL

City-wide winners of the 20th Annual "Writing for Literacy Essay Contest" were announced April 27, at the Balboa Park Club. Pershing Middle School student, Caroline Beail was one of the four City-wide 8th grade winners. Beail chose To Kill a Mockingbird, as the one book she would save if all other books in the world were to be destroyed.
